I love music. It helps me to write, to study, to pray, to be silent (I know!), to clean, to walk…to do just about anything. So, here I share with you some of my playlists and hope that you will enjoy them. Heads up, it’s eclectic!
I grew up in the 1980’s so I am slightly biased, but I don’t know many people who don’t love a bit of 80’s pop! Get your dusters at the ready…
I find the music of Taize, really relaxing. The music of Taize is the repetition of verses and phrases from the Bible, in many languages (Taize it ecumenical in spirit) but you don’t need to know or even engage with scripture in order to get something from it. It helps to zone out noise around, and to focus on the things that get blunted in the busyness of the everyday. There are hundreds of Taize chants out there, but this is the one I listen to most regularly.
My dad passed on his love of Elvis Presley, to me. I have been listening to Elvis since I can remember. Now that my dad is no longer here, it is a small bit of him that stays with me.
I know we all pretend that women support women, but the sad truth is we don’t do that as well as we should. Here is a list of some of the women I ‘go to’ when I need a bit of a pick me up – there are so many but this is a good place to start!
