Well hellooooo…

Happy New Year, lovely people!

Well, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? A couple of years, in fact, since I’ve popped up here with my musings. Life, as it does, decided to throw all its toys out of the pram, and many of the things I love doing — like writing this blog — got put on the back burner.

So, where to start? 2023 was a tough year. My mum passed away, and it’s been a strange, bittersweet journey learning to navigate life without her. Then, in 2024, we packed up and moved away from the South East — a proper upheaval, but one with a silver lining: I’m now closer to my family than I’ve been in over 20 years. It’s been heartwarming to reconnect with them and, honestly, not having to endure the M25 anymore is the cherry on top..

For those of you who’ve been following this blog since the beginning, you might remember I said no to ordination back in 2021. Honestly, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. There was this massive sense of relief, and — oddly enough — I’ve felt closer to God ever since. Funny how that works, isn’t it? Sometimes, stepping off the path you think you “should” be on opens up space for something deeper and truer.

Now, here we are, at the start of 2025. I’m not making any New Year’s resolutions — and if you’ve been around long enough, you’ll know why. (Spoiler: I’m terrible at keeping them. Resolutions and I break up faster than a reality TV couple.) Instead, my plan is simple: be more me. Do the things that bring me joy and, hopefully, be more present for the people I love.

This year, I’ve got a few things up my sleeve. I’m looking into retraining in a legal sector (watch this space for tales of my inevitable battles with Latin phrases and obscure regulations). I’m also exploring ways to diversify my income — because, frankly, the 9-to-5 grind has lost its charm. I’d love to carve out a little more freedom to read, write, and embrace the quieter moments in life.

If the past few years have taught me anything, it’s this: life is short, unpredictable, and far too precious to waste on things that don’t light you up. So here’s to a year of leaning into joy, chasing curiosity, and creating space for the things that matter most.

Thanks for sticking around, whether you’ve been here since the beginning or you’re just stumbling across this corner of the internet for the first time. I’m excited to see where 2025 takes us, and I’d love to hear what you’ve got planned for the year ahead. Drop me a comment or send me a message — let’s make this year a good one, together.
